TinyInbox emails you so you do not have to keep the dashboard open to know when a visitor needs a reply.

What you receive

New conversation. When a visitor sends the first message in a new conversation, TinyInbox emails you right away with the message body, site, and a link to the conversation. Unreplied follow-up. If a visitor message sits unanswered for 3 hours, TinyInbox sends a follow-up email so the thread does not get lost. If you reply during that window, the follow-up is skipped.

What visitors receive

When you reply from the dashboard, TinyInbox can email the visitor if they gave you an email address and are no longer active in the widget. The email uses the site name and accent color from your widget settings and links back to the page where the conversation started. Visitor reply emails are skipped when the visitor has already seen the reply or has checked back into the widget after your reply was sent.

From address

Emails are sent from notifications@notifications.tinyinbox.co. Add this address to your contacts or allow list so it does not land in spam. Replies to notification emails do not reach the visitor. Reply from the TinyInbox dashboard so the message goes back through the widget.

Where they go

Notifications are sent to the email address on your TinyInbox account. To change it, update your account email through the user menu.

What to expect on a busy day

  • One new conversation email per new thread, not per visitor message.
  • One unreplied follow-up per thread that crosses the 3-hour mark, not a reminder every hour.
  • No founder notification when you, the owner, are the last one to reply.
  • Visitor reply emails only send when the visitor is offline and has not seen the reply.
